Push notifications are now available. Which means you can receive (almost) instant notifications on your computer or phone, even if you're not on the site at the time.
To enable it, go to https://talkingballs.uk/account/preferences and click on 'enable push notifications', then select from the long list below it the types of notifications you want to receive. The existing alerts system will continue to work as usual, so you can choose to have either or both.
The settings are only valid for the device you set them up on, so if you want push notifications on more than device you'll need to set each one up separately.
Push notifications won't work on any IOS based browser, or Safari on macOS. This is because Apple have decided not to implement the standards agreed by other companies.
