I have a friend who works at the club and he told me that Mandy really wants it (promotion) this year (a little obvious I suppose) but that he has told NP that he will back what ever he wants to do (within reason I'm sure) and the impression i'm left with is that 2 deals (incoming) are all but done! As soon as I can find out who they are I'll post it, but as you would imagine that info is under lock and key at the moment!

According to someone on 606 one is Beckford for 1.5m, but if that happens I buy a hat just to eat it.

2 deals in could = loan deals

.. and if Waghorn & McGiven go back that doesn't amount to much of a squad boost

I'd hope signing Waghorn on an extended loan/permanent deal is one of those. It's clear he wants to stay and recent performances have been excellent.

I don't want Beckford, arrogant tosser.

My lodger is a dirty Leeds fan, and had the opportunity recently to a Leeds radio forum thing. He was speaking to one of the people on the forum (can't remember who) and he reckons that Beckford isn't a arrogant tosser at all. But very down to earth. And that it would also take a very large amount of money to get him - he reckoned (my lodger) 5 million.

Seeing as he's out of contact in the summer and a League one player that does seem a little stupid. But I think its just signalling Leeds intent to keep hold of him until the summer and if he leaves then, with Leeds promoted then fine.

He might be for all I know ! I have saw him doing post match interviews and he appears to be a cock, the way he also tried to work a move away from Leeds made me think he was a bit of a money grabber as well.

What's wrong with that?
If I was a footballer, with such a relatively short career, I'd be trying to grab every penny that I could, while I could.

That's your attitude, no loyalty in the game I suppose, shame really.

It's not just my attitude, it's the attitude of every professional footballer.
You'd be a deluded idiot to have a different attitude.

I know it is, but there is stil a few players in the game which would choose loyalty over money however unfortunately the kind is dying which choose loyalty over money.

Don't kid yourself.
The only players that have the luxury of pretending they're all about loyalty are the ones that already have a lucrative contract.

The loyalty bullshit is only a load of old bollocks, it doesn't exist, and rightly so. A professional footballer might have a career of 5 years or less, 10-15 years if he's lucky. Why should they have loyalty to any club when they have bills to pay?

Because most players earn enough money at their first club to last them a lifetime. A good example if Sergio Aguero who could easily leave Atletico Madrid and join probably any team in the world but no he is staying at least until the end of the season as he feels he owes something to his club, that is a loyal and good person. Yes he may leave but at least it will be under good terms not like Twattock, Adebayor e.t.c.
