Undisputed Heavyweight Title Match: Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk

Last time this happened was a quarter of a century ago when Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield to become the last undisputed king of the boxing heavyweights. We're back in a golden era right now with the top 2 fighting each other this weekend. Fury vs Usyk, for me is genuinely so 50/50. Usyk...

The ‘player(s) I have just seen on telly and think we should sign’ thread

No, we need to plan signing assets, not just players. Someone who inevitably has some value going forward, and I think that comes with (relative) youth.

    Out of Contract Players

According to reports from Complete Sports, Nidid said, “It is good to be back to the Premier League after being relegated and struggling back to EPL is something we don’t want to go back to again. “I think morale is high, expectation is high, we have to ensure we do not return to the...

    Trophy lift celebrations

Not for pre-match obviously, but, there's an Indian pub with great Indian food off Catherine St - The Durham Ox - anyway, I digress. £2.50 pints. Used to be rough as hell, but new owners refurbed it. The food coupled with £2.50 pints is mad.

Martyn Glover - Time to Shine?

I realise now that this might not make sense. 😬 The last line. We've just "sold" so to speak, by winning the league and showing we're valuable still to win silverware, be in the top league etc. Hopefully we get Ndidi tied up ASAP and he doesn't go somewhere lame like Fulham or Palace.

The ‘player(s) I have just seen on telly and think we should sign’ thread

I have a feeling Leeds may go for him. Farke has spoken of his admiration for Szmodics. Having said that, if Blackburn wanna cash in, they may get £10-15m based on this season. It's a risk and he is 29 in September.

    WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE

We've made it with Ipswich by our side. So glad it wasn't Leeds or Soton. Massive congrats to Ipswich, what a fantastic achievement. No parachute payments, low spend, good football and a never-say-die attitude.

I'm in Argentina for a bit so will miss the match today and the celebrations across the weekend but I will be there in spirit. I shall be wearing my retro LCFC shirt around the streets of Buenos Aires very proudly. Enjoy the match for those going and stay safe on Sunday if you're out and about...

The hysterically annoying and totally unfounded, but traditional, Summer 2024 rumours thread.

    WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE

I quite like having Leeds in the Premier League. Rather have them than Southampton, Norwich or WBA. Especially the latter two. I was rooting for Covscum tbh. Us and two of our rivals in the PL (if For3st survive).

Martyn Glover - Time to Shine?

Horrible to see Ndidi go on a free. I really hope he re-signs and we can get a cracking season out of him. In sales, there's this old rule that us conmen live by: The best time to sell to someone is immediately after they've just bought. It's time to strike whilst it's hot and get these...

    The Jamie Vardy appreciation thread

Oh mate, I've had the same thing for weeks now. WBA was the last match i attended, had tickets for Soton but couldn't attend. I hope WBA wasn't the last match I've seen him live! I can't help but wonder. That interview just now...looks like it might be.

    New ex-players (and managers) thread

I very much enjoyed this. Always got a lot of love and respect for Nigel Pearson. The role he's played in our Golden Era is so obvious. For all of his faults, I think he's one of our best ever managers.

Same team again please. Plenty of rest between now and then. Just finish the job. For what it's worth, promotion is excellent. But I want to win the league. 3 points here and even a point at Blackburn should do it.

Tbf. A young person tragically passed away in my Mrs' family on Sunday in South America. Probably a bit distasteful of me going to football. Harsh on Coady for sure. Also, I love Vardy but I hope he has something left for tonight after playing just a few days ago. My worry is that when Vardy is on the bench, he's an exciting option to bring on. But when he starts, who the **** do we bring on??

Looking at this again, he did an excellent job of being back on his feet in literally a second after he had blocked the ball before swiftly heading it over again. It's that energy and focus that made sure he was ready for the second one. It was like a goalkeeping drill.

Hamza was ****ing phenomenal. Good performance with heart, spirit and a desire to win. Love seeing Vardy score, absolute privilege. Coady had a couple of shaky moments but was otherwise excellent and aggressive. Bonus point, I was sat next to Harry Winks' girlfriend, mum and sister. Lovely...
